Dear Lennart,

Even during our time together with our NDR Big Band (from 1985 onwards), you told us about your ideas for a comprehensive teaching method—we were lucky enough to have you join our orchestra, much to the envy of others, and you always shone as concertmaster on the lead trumpet with incredible confidence; for me, these are unforgettable “old times.”

Now your school is here! You have formulated all your technical and musical knowledge precisely and clearly, creating a veritable treasure trove for “the young ones” who, during your professorial teaching at the Hamburg University of Music, played their fingers and lips sore on many an occasion and who, with the necessary perseverance, may continue to do so for their own benefit and enjoyment. Congratulations on your masterpiece!
